Stuttgart is the capital of the German state Baden-Württemberg, one of the most prosperous states of Germany. Major companies such as Daimler Chrysler, Porscheand Bosch are based in Stuttgart. 

The city has many parks and pedestrian zones, andabout 400 hectares of vineyards that reach the center, and offers a wide variety of cultural and culinary. 

Stuttgart has the status of city-district, unified by a president. Bishop also hasWürttemberg evangelist and a Catholic bishop (Bistum Rottenburg-Stuttgart). The cityhas two universities, technical schools and hosts several research institutes such asthe German Aerospace Center (DLR), Fraunhofer and the Max Planck.

Stuttgart is the gateway to the Black Forest and Swabian Jura. Surrounded by hills,forests and vineyards that reach the center. The port is located northeast of the city onthe Neckar River.
