About Santiago de Compostela Cathedral
Its style is Romanesque and its construction began in 1075, being consecrated in 1211.
It consists of three buildings that are located in its 25 chapels. Under most, is the crypt that holds the remains of the Apostle.
It has three entrances: In the main, the Obradoiro, we can admire the Portico de la Gloria, built by Master Mateo, is the masterpiece of Romanesque and more beautiful. The current facade, built in the eighteenth century to protect the Gate, has the impressive Baroque seal of Compostela.
The other two are: silver (Roman 1103) and the Immaculate (Transitional baroque neoclassical. 1765). Over the years, Santos, also opens the Holy Door (Plaza de la Quintana).
Inside, we should do a tour of the cloister (plateresco valuable example of Spanish) and the upper parts of the cathedral which is accessed from the museum.
