About San Francisco

San Francisco is one of the most visited cities in California. This huge city is well-known for its liberal community, hilly terrain, eclectic mix of Victorian and modern architecture, its summer fog, great ethnic and cultural diversity and its famous landmarks, including the Golden Gate, the famous cable cars and Chinatown. It is surrounded by water on all sides and it is known as the "summer fog city".

The city is also a primary banking and finance center, helping to make San Francisco rank 18th in the world's top producing cities, and 12th place in the top twenty global financial centers.

Thus, San Francisco is the technological, financial and cultural center of California, competing with Los Angeles. It has been associated with alternative movements and it is considered one of the most open cities in the United States.
