This is one of the most famous monuments of Madrid. Built between 1769 and 1778 by order of King Carlos III, was made by Francisco Sabatini, and was erected as a triumphal arch to celebrate the arrival of the monarch to the capital. The door of granite, is 19.5 meters high and is notable for its elegance and proportion, in addition to a number of decorative elements on the facade, with groups of sculptures, capitals, carvings and masks, among other decorations.
