It is one of the best surprises waiting in Rome. If you get to it by the side, striking the curvature of the wall, because it is a temple of a round. Once you reach the roundabout, (so called as the Pantheon and the square where is located) is discovered a large Egyptian obelisk that is in front of the entrance portico.

The original porch was covered with bronze, but this was used to make other sculptures.

Once inside the first impression is amazing, it looks much bigger on the inside than it appears. The huge dome oculus drilling causes a strange sensation in the set, gives solemnity, grandeur. Decorated with wood paneling, this dome is an example of architecture has been preserved in excellent condition and has served as a model for other known domes, like Brunelleschi in Florence. But in addition to the dome, inside the Rotunda stands out for its rich marble decorations, as well as the eight niches that are opened in the wall and on which rest several sculptures and tombs of prominent figures such as Rafael, and Victor Manuel II.

One of the greatest masterpieces of antiquity.
