New York City or "Big Apple" has become the economic and cultural capital in the world. New York offers a unique lifestyle you have to live and enjoy. With the constant movement of traffic, people and public transport, New York is known as "the city that never sleeps."
It is the largest city in the State of New York, United States and the second largest city on the continent and it is among the largest urban agglomerations in the world.
New York is considered a global city because of it´s global influences in media, politics, education, entertainment and fashion.
The artistic and cultural influence of the city is the strongest in the country. In addition, it is the headquarters of the United Nations Organization, which makes it an important point of international relations.
The city has many neighborhoods and buildings known around the world. For example, the Statue of Liberty, located on the namesake island and Ellis Island, which received millions of immigrants who came to America in the late XIX and early XX centuries. Wall Street has been one of the main centers of global finance since World War II and is the headquarters of the New York Stock Exchange.
The city also has concentrated many of the world's tallest buildings, among which are the Empire State Building and the twin towers of World Trade Center, which were destroyed in the attacks of September 11, 2001.
The city is the birthplace of many American cultural movements, such as the Harlem Renaissance in literature and visual art, abstract expressionism in painting, and hip hop, punk and Tin Pan Alley in music.

The touristic points are amazing. The one i liked most is the couple of islands, Liberty and Ellis. Another nice point but not so amazing is the Empire State Building and the Time Square. Everyone in the city seems late, all is fast.

There's none other like it! Expensive, sure, but it's a must for any city lover.

The Big Apple is a city that captures you. All the skyscrapers, all the yellow taxis, all the people walking on Times Square. It's a pity that we have seen so many films of New York, that the first impression is not the same as decades before. I recommend walking a lot through this city, discover Chinatown, going on the weekend through Central Park, visits some of the great museums as the MET and buy on the thousands of shops there are. Really good prices if you have euros!
