Murano is a city in northeastern Italy, in the Veneto region, usually described as an island in the Venetian Lagoon, although it is clear that Venice is really a collection of 117 islands connected by 354 bridges.

It is located approximately 1 km from Venice and is famous for its glass works, particularly for its lamps, vases, bowls and ornaments. It can be found after the cemetery of this city, called San Michiel isola dei morti or along channel Maran.

Thanks to the craftsmanship of the island, it enjoys a large tourist flow. This glass beads is usually object of imitation, but mostly the quality is comparatively low.
