It is one of the great monuments of Castille. The church of this monastery is the Pantheon of Kings of Castile.
The architectural beauty of the monastery is evident in the church (in Cistercian style) in the Chapter House and in the Cloister of San Fernando, now profoundly altered.
In the center of the nave there are the tombs of the founder kings with the arms of Castile and the Plantagenet Family. In Claustrillas, still shines Romanesque art of the last Castilian, in the transition to Gothic. Of particular interest are also the chapels of Santiago, Moorish taste, and of the Assumption, built by the Almohad art pure. Of great interest is the Museum of Rich Fabrics.
