About Mercerie

The Mercerie (Marzari in Venetian) is a set of streets that make up the main commercial artery of the city of Venice. Located in the sestiere (district) of San Marco, it connects the Plaza de San Marcos in the Rialto area. Today, the shops at Mercerie are luxury: in particular, abundant jewelry, furs, shoes, clothes, hats, gloves and glass art in the production of Murano. Some of the most renowned boutiques are Armani, Laura Biagiotti, Gucci, Krizia, Max Mara, Missoni, Prada, Trussardi, Valentino and Versace.

The route runs through the center of Venice and is full of artistic details. For example, at the beginning of the Mercerie dell'Orologio can be observed up to the first floor, a small bas-relief of a woman who dropped from his hand a mortar.
