Mercado de Triana

With a history of 150 years

El Mercado de Triana begins as a suburb. The people of the Barrio de Triana were fishermen of the River Guadalquivir and dock workers. Due to population growth, are installed on the original site next to the Plaza del Altozano vendors twice a week, until the Full Council In 1830, it decided to develop the "Triana Food Market", formed by small quartered outdoors. For a hundred years suffers little variation, until the merchants and the city of Sevilla decide to form a major project: a modern market with large installations.
