The Cathedral of Saint Peter and Cecilia, declared a "National Heritage" was inaugurated on February 12, 1905 in Mar del Plata. 

It consists of three buildings, covering an area of 67 m long by 20 wide, a total of 1360 square meters, excluding the spaces reserved for altars, confessionals porches and 850 square meters that are free and it is possible to accommodate 800 people with ease.

The crypt underneath the altar contains the remains of the holy Severus, Maximus,Justin Donato, Grace and Epidia. In addition to several of them relics belonging to St.Cecilia, all these pieces are authenticated by the Vatican.
