Lisbon: Lisbon neighborhoods
Lisbon is divided into several distinct neighborhoods. To know the city is necessary to devote a little time to each of them.
The most important districts are La Baixa, Chiado, Bairro Alto, Alfama and Belem. Each of these five districts has a unique spirit.
In addition to the traditional neighborhoods in Lisbon two newest areas: The Marquis de Pombal Square and the surrounding area and the Park of Nations, built for the Expo in Lisbon in 1998.
- The BaixaLa Baixa is the central district of Lisbon, where are most of the shops and entertainment.
- Chiado and Bairro AltoEl Chiado and the Bairro Alto Lisbon represent the most bohemian and alternative. Some define as the Montmartre Chiado Lisbon.
- The AlfamaLa Alfama is one of the most traditional neighborhoods of Lisbon. Its narrow streets were fishing residence for many years.
- Belém Belém are some of the most important sights of Lisbon and his visit is essential.
- NacionesEl Park Park of Nations is the Lisbon area that was created for Expo 1998. It is a modern, lively and wide-open spaces.
