About Do Vilar, do Franco y Nova Streets
In these historic streets leading to the Cathedral, we find extensive and continuous Baroque arcades to protect from rain or heat.
Walking on large slabs of stone, we will see many houses, palaces, built by Baroque masters Compostela, Romanesque churches of Santa Maria Salome (R. Nova), built in the XII century to honor the mother of the Apostle, or the fountain where legend has it that the oxen stopped carrying the body of James (R. Franco).
These and all the streets in this area, provide a landscape and a medieval setting, especially at night. In them there are many bars, restaurants, bakeries, old shops and bookstores, that surely will delight the traveler.
