About Dam Square
The Dam Square, or simply Dam is square in Amsterdam, the capital of the Netherlands. Its notable buildings and frequent events make it one of the most known and important places in the city.
It is located in the historic heart of Amsterdam, about 750 meters south of Central Station. On the western edge of the square is the neoclassical Royal Palace, the Nieuwekerk and the Madame Tussauds wax museum. At the opposite extreme is possible to find the National Monument.
