About Chocolatería San Ginés
Located in one of the oldest passages of Madrid, between Arenal and Mayor, there was an inn and hostelry, Lazaro Lopez, who in 1894 is converted to churros.
The passage was the place to "clashes of swords" with which to wash the honor and the scenario that Valle-Inclan used to cause the imprisonment of Max Estrella, back in 1920 in his "Bohemian Lights." Its location next to the Teatro Eslava and the Church of San Ginés for many years has provided a large clientele that after the function or mass, taking a chocolate with churros.
Its open until late at night attracted scroungers, clubbers, intellectuals and revelers, as well as artists, film and theater actors, poets and writers, who were here a meeting. Today it remains a very popular local.
