About Champs de Mars

The Champ de Mars is a large public garden located on the seventh district. In 1790 we celebrate the Feast of the Federation. On July 17, 1791 there were shootings and Jean Sylvain Bailly was guillotined on 12 November 1793. In the center of the square stood the altar of the Fatherland. measures 780 meters long, 220 m wide. The many roads that intersect are a little over 2 miles on each side.
