Welcome to Castello de la Plana

Castellón de la Plana is a Spanish municipality located in the Valencian Community. The county boasts 10 miles of coastline overlooking the Mediterranean Sea.

Until 1252, its inhabitants lived in the Cerro de la Magdalena, moving to the Flat that year thanks to permission granted by King James I of Aragon the previous year, when the foundation of the city, an event still remembered with the celebration of the Fiestas de la Magdalena, in 2010 the party was declared of International Tourist Interest.

Castellon is eminently a place of sun and beach tourism, since it has a high quality beaches, many with blue flag and equipped with a wide range of services.

Among the major events which have taken place in more than 750 years of itsexistence, highlights the signature of the Rules of Castellón, Valencian languagegoverning in 1932, the creation of the Universidad Jaime I in 1991, the holding ofSpecial Olympics 2008, or by international golf tournament Castelló Masters CostaAzahar, the PGA European Tour.
