Welcome to Biarritz

Biarritz is a town of southwestern France, located in the Aquitaine region. Bayonne is located near and just 20 km from the border with Spain.

This whaling town, has been for years a star tourist destination because it was chosen by Napoleon III in 1854 to build his summer residence on the beach, the Hotel du Palais. It is also known that the British Royal Family spent time in Biarritz, since the nineteenth century physicians recommended bathing in the sea in Biarritz for their therapeutic properties.

Biarritz casino opened on August 10, 1901 and its beaches make the city a tourist center. Biarritz is also one of the most important places to surfing in France.
