Almagro is the historical capital of Campo de Calatrava (Ciudad Real), Autonomous Community of Castilla-La Mancha.

Is an important historic-artistic and tourist site. It preserves its many monuments, despite wars, confiscations and earthquakes have destroyed much of them.
